I'm James Koole, a distance runner living in Toronto, Ontario. I've been running since 2008 when I was challenged to run the Sporting Life 10km by a friend at work. He didn't show up on race morning. I ran the race anyways and never stopped running after that.
I've run lots of races since then including a dozen or so marathons, a couple of 50km ultras and countless 10km, half marathons and 30km races. I run for fitness and for fun. A run gives me time to think about myself for a while or to enjoy some time with friends as we tour our city.
When I'm not running, I work as a product manager for a leading retail domain registrar. If you listen to tech podcasts, you know which one. I can honestly say that running has made me a better product manager and being a product manager has made me a better runner.
I've had this site and blog off and on for many years. I spent the most time working on it during the years that I was a part of Team Awesome for the Ottawa Race Weekend and a Digital Champion for the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon. I used my blog to share my training experience and generally help other runners on their running journey.
This one will be a bit different, with a focus on helping myself rather than others. But I hope others will still find it interesting and helpful too.
